Flying Termites Inside a Birmingham Home: What to Do Next
Identify the place of emergence
Note whether insects appeared from a wall, flooring, window area or another opening, or simply gathered outside. Photograph the insects and their location. Save a sample if it is safe to do so. Do not damage finishes or enter unsafe areas to chase the source.
Keep ants and termites separate
Winged ants and termites can be confused. Body shape, antennae and relative wing lengths can help, but poor photographs may not support identification. A provider may need a sample or a closer inspection. Do not assume every flying insect near a light is a termite.
Visible removal is only one observation
Clearing visible insects does not establish control of any colony or concealed entry routes. Tell the inspector when the insects appeared and whether similar activity happened before. If there is an existing termite agreement, contact the responsible company and follow its reporting process.
Prepare for an inspection
Give the full Birmingham-area address, foundation details if known and any treatment records. Ask about the inspection charge, accessible areas, findings and whether any recommended treatment is a separate proposal. Confirm availability on the call; this guide does not promise an arrival time.
